Abstract

|
Present investigation was attempted in order to make clear the callus formation, organ differentiation, and other related matters in the vitro culture of Daucus carota tissue.
Some of the results obtained were as follows:
1) Nodule developed from the callus tissue from which roots and shoots emerged seperately, developing finally into a complete plantlet with ordinary shoot-root axis.
2) Various shapes of free cells developed into plantlets through a similar process as a fertilized egg in the embryo sac developed into an embryo in embryogenesis.
3) Tissue or organ differentiation was retarded when high concentration of auxin was added to the media.
